On the Front Lines: Youth and Increasing Hate Crimes

Official data reflects an increase in hate crimes and hate group activity. This workshop discusses what's behind the current trend and how post-millennial youth are being targeted by organized and online hate groups. Part of this trend has been an uptick in the harassment of racial, ethnic, and sexual minority students adding to their experiences of trauma. This training will include strategies to prepare teachers and students to respond to hate activity and recruitment in schools.

Two trainings for Lake Oswego High School’s “This Is Us! Who We Are And What We Stand For” development day.
